Custom Orders

Working with wood can be challenging and there are many variables. When you order a custom ring or pendant, you are willing to give me creative freedom in choosing the wood type and overall shape.

The wood type is important and gives you two things; durability and beauty. I feel that I am in the best position to make that call.

But sometimes a customer has a definite preference such as “I would like a lighter wood” or “I would like a darker wood” - please let me know in your comments at checkout. I am also happy to consider special requests if you have them, so please also include those in your comments at checkout. I may not always be able to execute requests, but I certainly will try my best!

Each custom piece is designed and handcrafted to be durable, beautiful, and entirely unique.

The stone is inlayed. This means that a pocket is routed for the stone to sit and then it gets glued in and sealed so that water cannot get underneath and around the stone.

For Rings and Bracelets: The wood is sealed with multiple coats (10-15 layers) of finish to protect the wood.

For Pendants: The wood is left raw and treated with our 100% natural wood balm (we sell this too!) As a bonus, this allows the pendant to be used as a carrier for essential oils if you so choose!

You may be wondering as I was when I made my first wood ring… ”is this thing going to break really easy?”

To my ultimate surprise and through trial and error, there is a way to construct a very durable and a surprisingly thin wood ring. A lot of it has to do with how you utilize the direction of the wood grain. And a lot of it has to do with choosing the right type of wood. Not all hardwoods are good for ring making.

Keep in mind….this is a wood ring. Wood is not as durable as metal, therefore, you care for and wear your wood ring diferently. I’ve had my wood rings for 3+ years now and they show minimal wear and so I look forward to enjoying my wood rings for decades to come.

Here’s how I wear mine:

Since I work in construction, I only wear them to meetings, dinners out, and to special events. When I need to sanitize or wash my hands, I remove them and then put them back on when my hands are dry. That’s it! Its kind of simple…its a statement piece.

And if you work in an office type setting, you may have even more opportunities to wear your ring :)

Overall, there’s a special kind of feeling when you are wearing a handcrafted wood ring with a natural stone inset. They are rare, entirely one of a kind, refreshingly different, they’ve got some serious boho vibes, lightweight, comfortable, and so so cool. It’s totally worth the little extra care. YES! You can reserve a stone! See a stone you love but the custom orders are sold out at the moment? You can purchase the stone now to reserve it, and then purchase the custom ring when a slot becomes available. You are guaranteed a custom slot when you purchase a stone. This means that you are first in line next time a slot opens up.

I will view your stone purchase as a down-payment. The work can only begin when you have successfully purchased a Custom Ring Order or Custom Pendant Order.

Refunds for purchased stones will not be accepted so please be 100% committed to your decision. If you decide to back out after purchasing a stone, you will lose the stone reservation and it will not be refunded.

You can reserve a stone up to 3 months. If you do not complete the second step by purchasing the Custom Order after 3 months, you will lose your stone reservation, and you will not be refunded.

Custom rings take a minimum of 2 weeks for creation + 3-5 days for shipping.

Custom Pendants and Bracelets take a minimum of 1-2 weeks for creation + 3-5 days for shipping.

If you need it completed by a certain date, please let me know.

Yes sizing is important.

For Rings: I recommend sizing up about 1/4 to 1/2 a size. This is because thicker ring bands fit and feel tighter than thin bands.

First decide what hand and finger you want to wear the ring. Yes hand! Your two index fingers (for ex) can be different sizes on each hand. And finger sizes can change throughout the day, and even throughout the year if you live in cold climates.

For Bracelets: I need your exact wrist size in inches, I will make the bracelet to be about 1/4” larger than your wrist size since these bracelets are a cuff style bracelet.

For necklaces, its just figuring out your chain length. Please use my necklace guide for additional info if needed.
