FAQ

  • How do I care for my wood jewelry?

It’s best to keep your jewelry dry and free of chemicals.

For Wood Rings; Avoid washing your hands with soap and water, applying hand sanitizer, and cleaning while wearing your ring. Doing these things regularly will strip the protective finish and damage the wood. Avoid high intensity activity while wearing your ring to avoid breaking. Store your ring in a cool dry place.

For wood jewelry with metal components like Earrings and Necklaces; avoid spraying perfume, hair spray, or other products on while wearing your jewelry as this can cause the metal parts of your jewelry to lose their shine, and may lead to tarnishing. Store in a soft cloth away from other metal jewelry.

For Bracelets; keep it dry and free of chemicals.

Wood, Leather, and Stone are beautiful, natural materials that require a little more care and attention than some other man made products. If you follow these care tips your wood jewelry will live a long and happy life!

  • How do I use the Aromatherapy Jewelry?

Aromatherapy Jewelry is jewelry you can use as a carrier for essential oils. Wood is an excellent carrier for these oils because it’s porous. Oils and waxes have been used to treat and nourish wood for thousands of years so the two things work very naturally and in harmony with each other.

Many people apply oils straight to their skin, but there are some more potent oils that need to be diffused for the aromatic benefits. Wood jewelry is perfect for that purpose!

Simply dab the oil of choice on the wood parts of the jewelry piece. Let it soak in for as long as you’d like, and then wipe off the excess.

Use daily or not at all! Each Aromatherapy jewelry piece is treated with an all natural wax/oil balm so that it’s properly nourished and ready to go before it gets to you. That way if a person does not want to use it at all for the purpose of aromatherapy, they have that option too.

  • Is your jewelry hypoallergenic?

Most of our jewelry is hypoallergenic! But not all…

“I have had a slight metal allergy my entire life and am especially sensitive to nickel. For that reason I am careful to source metals that are nickel free and hypoallergenic.” ~Rachel

We use 18k gold plated stainless steel ear wires on most of our earrings, which are hypoallergenic and very durable. See each individual piece for exact details.

Many of our necklaces are made with 14k gold filled chain. This is the next best thing to solid gold while being cost effective.

Some of the chain material sourced for necklaces are mixed metal and not hypoallergenic, however if someone would like to upgrade to a hypoallergenic chain, they do have that option here.

Please check the description of each piece to know what was used.

  • Do you do Custom Orders?

Yes I do! Go to Custom Orders and Stone Inventory to read about the ordering process.

  • Do you make wedding bands?

I do not make wedding bands. Instead I make statement rings.

I taylor my rings toward the feminine population. I have found that most wood rings are bands, and I have purposely strayed from that very common style to create a unique style of my own.

There are wood ring makers that specialize in wooden wedding bands and they use an entirely different process than I do. Search “bent wood rings” on the internet and I think you will find what you are looking for.

  • Is a Wood Ring right for me?

You may be wondering if wood rings are durable and will last…

My rings are more durable than you may think. Think about the arch in many bridges, that arch creates an extremely strong structural support. Wooden rings are similar, that arch/circle is extremely strong as long as you use the tensile strength of the wood grain to your advantage and run it in the right direction. I have developed specific methods to ensure the strongest possible construction.

In my opinion the biggest risk to the durability of a wooden ring is repeated exposure to moisture and chemicals. You simply cannot treat a wooden ring the same way as a metal ring. To me a wooden ring is meant to be worn as a statement piece, and not as something you put on and never take off. So to keep its protective finish in tact, a person needs to be prepared to keep their ring dry. If you are looking for something to wear day and night, and not take off…I do not recommend a wooden ring for you.

In the end, the durability of your wooden ring depends on you. Will you take care of it? Will you take it off when washing your hands and using chemicals, showering, swimming, playing rough sports, and other rough daily activities? If you want a really cool, unique, head turner…and are prepared to take care of it. Then proceed on my friend.

(Please note: If you have any issues with your ring in the first few times of wear, please contact me and I will do my best to make it right. If there is an error on my part or a flaw in the wood that perhaps caused an undue break, we can work out a solution together :)

  • How do I figure out my ring size?

Please go to Ring Size Guide for detailed help and instructions.

  • What happens if my ring doesn't fit?

I unfortunately cannot resize any finished rings. Please be 100% sure of your ring size before purchasing. Please use my Ring Size Guide.

When purchasing a wood ring, I recommend sizing up about a half size. Fingers usually swell and shrink throughout the day. Keep this in mind when sizing your fingers. Taking multiple measurements at different times in order to get the most accurate picture of your normal size. Remember that a thicker ring is going to fit and feel tighter than a thinner ring.

  • What if I need a different ring size than what's available?

Send me a message! Sometimes I can make another one if I have the materials. If I do, I will create a separate listing so you can select your ring size and complete your purchase.

Please keep in mind that while I make every effort to make it the same as the item pictured, every single item I make is unique because of variations in wood grain, stone, and epoxy resin patterns.
